Lindsay McBirnie's work is a combination of both surreal and characterised images which originate from memory and observed drawing. Born near london and bred in Hong Kong, Germany and Holland, Lindsay uses the people and places around her as a constant source for inspiration and ideas. This year Lindsay has written her first childrens book called Blobfish, become the artist as reporter in documenting binge drinking in and around the city of Edinburgh, and has enjoyed illustrating some rather obscure lyrics by David Bowie.
