Fiona Purves grew up in the Scottish Borders and her illustrations often combine her favourite things: drawing, animals and baking. Her work is strongly influenced by observational drawing and the energetic, spontaneous qualities it produces. Allowing this to feed directly into her illustrations, she experiments with composition, line and texture to create a tactile and completely hand rendered characteristic.
